SamePage adheres to Accessibility guidelines to ensure the information is easily accessible to users with disabilities. To a large extent, it complies with the Section 508 regulations that require agencies to make government information technology accessible to all Americans with disabilities. Government employees or private citizens with disabilities using SamePage have the same access and use of information as compared to those that do not have any disabilities. For the vision-impaired for instance, it means that a graphic or picture is described accurately in a text format that could then be processed by a screen reader.
- Keyboard Accessibility All the important functions within SamePage can also be directly accessed through keyboard making it possible for the visually impaired to read and contribute content.
- Simple Editor Option SamePage also offers a Simple toolbar option in the WYSIWYG editor where the number of functions exposed is much smaller and less overwhelming for users with disabilities.
- Screen Reader Support SamePage is a browser-based solution that is fully compatible with screen reader software. Alternate text or label is available for all product UI images, form fields, data tables etc ensuring the screen reader can convey proper information to the end user.
- User-generated Content While SamePage cannot control accessibility of user generated content, it provides the all the options and means to ensure authors can ensure accessibility of the content. Images and links have alternate text fields, tables have summaries and captions etc which can be specified by the author at the time of creation.
- VPAT For customers that have Accessibility as a critical requirement, we can provide you with the detailed Voluntary Product Accessibility Template or VPAT which specifies out how and to what extent SamePage meets the criteria outlined in Section 508.
