RSS or Really Simple Syndication is the standard for syndicating content and news over the web. SamePage leverages RSS in multiple ways to help streamline communication and let you stay on top of the latest changes. With support for both outbound and inbound RSS, SamePage lets you easily syndicate content across projects within SamePage as well as with external systems.
- Outbound RSS
This is where information needs to be exposed from SamePage to external systems. Virtually every list in SamePage is also exposed via RSS. Just clicking on the RSS icon on top of the page, gives you the RSS URL that you can simply paste into your favorite RSS Reader to get updates right on your desktop. Some of the common feeds that you can expose to external systems include:
- Recent Activity
- Recent Pages, News, Threads or Support Tickets
- Recent Blogs or Blog Posts
- List of All Projects or Favorite Projects
- List of Favorite Pages
- Alphabetical list of Pages
- List of Tags
- List of Pages with a specific Tag
- List of Pages returned for a specific Search
- Inbound RSSThis is where information from external systems needs to be consumed and displayed by SamePage. The RSS plugin gives a simple and powerful way to consume syndicated content from any external RSS feed and display it within a wiki page. RSS feeds from various news sites and other enterprise systems can be aggregated and displayed within the wiki page without a single line of code.
- Syndication across ProjectsSince SamePage supports both outbound and inbound RSS, syndication within and across projects is a breeze. The RSS plugin can also be used to syndicate any of the outbound RSS feeds, say Recent Pages of a specific project, and display it within a wiki page. As content gets updated across different projects, the relevant RSS feeds get automatically updated.
